Ramadan nights, especially in the last ten, are blessed opportunities for acceptance of duʿā’. The Prophet ﷺ taught many concise, powerful supplications that bring forgiveness, mercy, and closeness to Allah. Below are authentic duʿā’s from Qur’an and Sunnah that every believer should try to memorize and use in Ramadan nights.
Duʿā’s from the Sunnah to Memorize for Ramadan Nights
1. Seeking Forgiveness and Mercy
This is the most famous duʿā’ the Prophet ﷺ taught for Laylat al-Qadr.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ العَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allāhumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuḥibbul-‘afwa fa‘fu ‘annī
“O Allah, You are Pardoning, You love to pardon, so pardon me.”

2. Asking for Goodness in Both Worlds
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbana ātinā fi-d-dunyā ḥasanah wa fi-l-ākhirati ḥasanah wa qinā ‘adhāba-n-nār
“Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”

3. Duʿā’ for Guidance and Piety
اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي وَسَدِّدْنِي
Allāhumma-hdinī wa saddidnī
“O Allah, guide me and grant me steadfastness.”

4. Duʿā’ for Protection From the Fire
اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ
Allāhumma ajirnī mina-n-nār
“O Allah, save me from the Fire.”

It is Sunnah to say this seven times in the morning and evening, but it is also a powerful plea for Ramadan nights.
5. Duʿā’ for Complete Forgiveness
اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنتُ وَمَا أَسْرَفْتُ وَمَا أَنْتَ أَعْلَمُ بِهِ مِنِّي، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
Allāhummaghfir lī mā qaddamtu wa mā akhkhartu wa mā asrartu wa mā a‘lamtu wa mā asraftu wa mā anta a‘lamu bihi minnī. Antal-muqaddimu wa antal-mu’akhkhiru, lā ilāha illā anta
“O Allah, forgive me my past and future sins, what I have done in secret and what I have done openly, my excesses and whatever You know better than me. You are the One Who brings forward and the One Who delays; none has the right to be worshipped but You.”

6. Duʿā’ for Light and Guidance
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ فِي قَلْبِي نُورًا، وَفِي بَصَرِي نُورًا، وَفِي سَمْعِي نُورًا، وَعَنْ يَمِينِي نُورًا، وَعَنْ شِمَالِي نُورًا، وَفَوْقِي نُورًا، وَتَحْتِي نُورًا، وَأَمَامِي نُورًا، وَخَلْفِي نُورًا، وَاجْعَلْ لِي نُورًا
Allāhummaj‘al fī qalbī nūran, wa fī baṣarī nūran, wa fī sam‘ī nūran, wa ‘an yamīnī nūran, wa ‘an shimālī nūran, wa fawqī nūran, wa taḥtī nūran, wa amāmī nūran, wa khalfī nūran, waj‘al lī nūran
“O Allah, place light in my heart, light in my sight, light in my hearing, light on my right, light on my left, light above me, light beneath me, light before me, light behind me, and make light for me.”

7. Duʿā’ for Acceptance of Worship
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Rabbana taqabbal minnā innaka anta-s-samī‘u-l-‘alīm
“Our Lord, accept [this] from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.”

8. Duʿā’ for Strength in Worship
اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
Allāhumma a‘innī ‘alā dhikrika wa shukrika wa ḥusni ‘ibādatik
“O Allah, help me remember You, thank You, and worship You in the best manner.”

اللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْ قَلْبِي عَلَى دِينِكَ
Allāhumma thabbit qalbī ‘alā dīnik
“O Allah, keep my heart firm upon Your religion.”

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika mina-l-hammi wa-l-ḥazan, wa a‘ūdhu bika mina-l-‘ajzi wa-l-kasal, wa a‘ūdhu bika mina-l-jubni wa-l-bukhl, wa a‘ūdhu bika min ghalabati-d-dayni wa qahri-r-rijāl
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, from incapacity and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, and from being overpowered by debt and by men.”

11. Duʿā’ for Forgiveness of Parents and Believers
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ
Rabbi-ghfir lī wa liwālidayya wa lilmu’minīna yawma yaqūmu-l-ḥisāb
“My Lord, forgive me, my parents, and the believers on the Day the account is established.”

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مُنْكَرَاتِ الْأَخْلَاقِ وَالأَعْمَالِ وَالأَهْوَاءِ
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika min munkarāti-l-akhlaq wa-l-a‘māl wa-l-ahwā’
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from evil character, deeds, and desires.”

13. Duʿā’ for Jannah and Protection from the Fire
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْجَنَّةَ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ
Allāhumma innī as’aluka-l-jannata wa a‘ūdhu bika mina-n-nār
“O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and seek refuge in You from the Fire.”

اللَّهُمَّ اقْسِمْ لِي مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ مَا تَحُولُ بِهِ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ مَعَاصِيكَ، وَمِنْ طَاعَتِكَ مَا تُبَلِّغُنِي بِهِ جَنَّتَكَ، وَمِنَ الْيَقِينِ مَا تُهَوِّنُ بِهِ عَلَيَّ مَصَائِبَ الدُّنْيَا…
Allāhummaqsim lī min khashyatik mā taḥūlu bihi baynī wa bayna ma‘āṣīk, wa min ṭā‘atik mā tuballighunī bihi jannatak, wa mina-l-yaqīn mā tuhawwinu bihi ‘alayya maṣā’iba-d-dunyā…
“O Allah, apportion for me such fear of You as will come between me and disobedience to You; such obedience to You as will bring me to Your Paradise; and such certainty as will make the afflictions of this world easy for me…”

15. Duʿā’ for Safety from the Punishment of the Grave
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْمَأْثَمِ وَالْمَغْرَمِ
Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika min ‘adhābi-l-qabr, wa a‘ūdhu bika min fitnati-l-Masīḥi-d-Dajjāl, wa a‘ūdhu bika min fitnati-l-maḥyā wa-l-mamāt, Allāhumma innī a‘ūdhu bika mina-l-ma’tham wa-l-maghram
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave, from the trial of the false Messiah, from the trials of life and death. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from sin and debt.”

16. Duʿā’ for Complete Wellbeing
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَايَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي
Allāhumma innī as’aluka-l-‘afwa wa-l-‘āfiyata fī-d-dunyā wa-l-ākhirah, Allāhumma innī as’aluka-l-‘afwa wa-l-‘āfiyata fī dīnī wa dunyāya wa ahlī wa mālī
“O Allah, I ask You for pardon and wellbeing in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and wellbeing in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth.”

17. Duʿā’ for Strength Against the Soul’s Whispers
اللَّهُمَّ آتِ نَفْسِي تَقْوَاهَا وَزَكِّهَا أَنْتَ خَيْرُ مَنْ زَكَّاهَا أَنْتَ وَلِيُّهَا وَمَوْلَاهَا
Allāhumma āti nafsī taqwāhā wa zakkihā anta khayru man zakkāhā anta waliyyuhā wa mawlāhā
“O Allah, grant my soul its piety and purify it, for You are the best to purify it. You are its Guardian and Master.”
