1. Remember That Allah’s Command Is Above All
Allah says:
“It is not for a believing man or a believing woman, when Allah and His Messenger have decided a matter, that they should [thereafter] have any choice about their affair.” [Qur’an 33:36]
The command of Allah is above every opinion and trend. Holding firm to hijab means choosing Allah over people.
2. Know That Peer Pressure Is a Test of Faith
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Paradise is surrounded by hardships and Hellfire is surrounded by desires.” [Sahih Muslim 2822]
Pressure to abandon hijab is one of the hardships that tests who truly desires Paradise.
3. Strengthen Your Īmān Through Dhikr and Qur’an
Allah says:
“Those who believe and whose hearts find comfort in the remembrance of Allah — surely in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find comfort.” [Qur’an 13:28]
A heart filled with Allah’s words cannot be shaken by people’s voices.
4. Surround Yourself With Supportive Friends
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“A person is upon the religion of his close friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends.” [Sunan Abi Dawud 4833 | Sahih]
Keeping righteous companions strengthens your hijab and weakens peer pressure.
5. Reflect on the Rewards of Obedience
Allah says:
“Indeed, I do not allow to be lost the work of any worker among you, whether male or female.” [Qur’an 3:195]
Every day you wear hijab, every moment you resist pressure, Allah records reward.
6. Remember That This Life Is Temporary
Allah says:
“And the worldly life is nothing but delusion.” [Qur’an 3:185]
Trends and opinions pass quickly, but obedience remains forever.
7. Recognize Shayṭān’s Role in Pressure
Allah says:
“[Satan] only invites his party to be among the companions of the Blaze.” [Qur’an 35:6]
Behind every voice calling you to remove hijab is the whisper of Shayṭān.
8. Understand That True Beauty Is Inner
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Indeed, Allah does not look at your appearance or your wealth, but He looks at your hearts and your deeds.” [Sahih Muslim 2564]
Hijab reminds you that value lies in your heart and actions, not how people see you.
9. Know That Hijab Is a Shield
Hijab, like fasting, shields your dignity and protects you from harm.
10. Avoid Environments That Undermine Faith
If a place or group constantly pressures you, distance yourself from it. Protecting your faith is more important than pleasing people.
11. Remind Yourself of Accountability
Allah says:
“So by your Lord, We will surely question them all, about what they used to do.” [Qur’an 15:92-93]
On the Day of Judgment, peers will not answer for you — you alone will.
12. Make Duʿā for Steadfastness
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“O Turner of the hearts, keep my heart firm upon Your religion.” [Jamiʿ al-Tirmidhi 3522 | Sahih]
Ask Allah daily to protect your heart from weakness.
13. Realize That Patience Is Victory
Allah says:
“Indeed, Allah is with the patient.” [Qur’an 2:153]
Patience in hijab brings Allah’s nearness.
14. Think of Hijab as a Form of Jihād
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The true warrior is the one who strives against his own soul in obedience to Allah.” [Musnad Ahmad 23958 | Sahih]
Resisting pressure is a daily jihād rewarded greatly.
15. Keep Your Eyes on the Ultimate Goal
Allah says:
“And the foremost (in faith)… Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him.” [Qur’an 9:100]
The pleasure of Allah is the true goal — not people’s approval.
