Feeling stuck is not always about your situation. It is often about direction, habits, and what you are attached to. Islam does not ignore this feeling. It explains why it happens and redirects you out of it.
Why You Feel Stuck in Life and What Islam Says?
1. You Are Waiting for Motivation Instead of Acting
Allah says:
“And that there is not for man except what he strives for.”
[Qur’an 53:39]
Waiting to “feel ready” keeps you in place. Movement creates clarity.
2. You Are Carrying Too Many Distractions
Allah says:
“Competition in worldly increase has distracted you.”
[Qur’an 102:1]
Too much input:
Scrolling
Comparing
Overthinking
This blocks progress.
3. You Are Not Consistent in the Basics
Allah says:
“Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers at fixed times.”
[Qur’an 4:103]
When the foundation is unstable, everything feels unstable.
4. You Are Avoiding What You Know You Need to Fix
Allah says:
“Indeed, Allah does not change the condition of a people until they change what is within themselves.”
[Qur’an 13:11]
Stuck often means:
You know the issue, but you are delaying change.
5. You Are Trying to Control Everything
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Be keen on what benefits you, seek help from Allah, and do not give up.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2664]
You control effort, not outcome.
Trying to control both leads to frustration.
6. You Are Comparing Your Timeline to Others
Allah says:
“We have apportioned among them their livelihood…”
[Qur’an 43:32]
Your path is not meant to look like someone else’s.
Comparison slows you down.
7. You Are Focused Only on Dunya Goals
Allah says:
“Whoever desires ˹only˺ this worldly life and its luxuries, We will pay them in full for their deeds in this life—nothing will be left out.”
[Qur’an 11:15]
When your goals are only worldly, even success feels empty.
8. You Are Not Taking Small Daily Action
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are consistent, even if small.”
[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 783]
Big plans without daily action keep you stuck.
9. You Are Letting Past Mistakes Define You
Allah says:
“Do not despair of the mercy of Allah.”
[Qur’an 39:53]
Your past explains you. It does not have to control you.
10. You Are Not Aligning With Your Purpose
Allah says:
“And I did not create jinn and mankind except to worship Me.”
[Qur’an 51:56]
When your daily life is disconnected from your purpose, everything feels off.
You do not get unstuck by thinking more.
You get unstuck by correcting direction and moving, even if slowly.
